Good day! I am worried about my Gar. He ate about 7 feeders then won't eat now. Its been about 2 weeks since he last eaten. He's active and swims around my tank. But whenever I introduce feeders into the tank, he just stares at them as if he wants to eat them but he never tried to bite. Water Parameters are good, keeping it at 27 degrees celcius. Also, yesterday I did a 50% water change due to high nitrite levels, now my gar floats at the top of the tank. Is this normal. Thank you. Sorry for the long post.

Wait it out and retry feeding later. I’d try feeding pellets soaked in garlic or bloodworm juice. Try and avoid feeders. Keep nitrates below 20ppm and tank cycled.

It's possible it picked up some sort of disease from the feeders. I'd recommend trying something like praziquante or metronidazole.

Thank you so much. Water parameters are highly monitored. Would try this pellet soaked in garlic and bloodworm juice. May I ask what pellet in particular? Because ever since I got him, he never seemed to show interest in other food than live fish.

Thank you. I have already put this into consideration. Would definitely try this praziquante and metronidazole. Don't wanna lose this little guy. THANKS ! <3

Welcome aboard

If Nitrite was high and not Nitrate that could cause fish not to eat. Agree with others please quarantine live feeders and pellets are better.
Did my water change yesterday and water parametes are now good. Nitrates level are now as low as 10ppm. But I am wondering if there's another problem with my gar. He's floating like this and I assume it's not Swim Bladder Disease. Pictures and videos included.

Where are pics and vids? Vids you need to upload through a platform like youtube. Pics you can upload with the "attach file" in the corner
