worried about my RES

My Red Eared Slider has been acting very weird. A few days ago his heater busted and I got a new one. Since then, he's been spending SO much time on his basking dock. I thought it was weird but tonight I saw him sleeping on the basking dock. He NEVER does that... Water temp is 78 degrees. Help me help him please.

Try making the water warmer? What's the basking spot temp at? Maybe he is just trying to stay warm. I'm not a big turtle guy so other than that I have no idea.

I often find my RES sleeping on the basking spot, wouldnt hurt to bring the water temp up a bit, as well what is the basking spot temp?

High 80s right now, about 87.

I'm thinking nothings wrong though, he's acting fine, I think I just overreacted :/

yeah your deff. over reacting. id be more worried if he spent a majority of his tiem in the water.
