everywhere....
I've been a member for a long while, and haven't posted, so, here goes.

We ordered a new aquarium stand to replace one which was made of pressboard and beginning to fall apart. The new stand is a Perfecto 55 gallon Magesty series stand, made of pine, which works fine with me. Looking at how the tank sits on the new stand has me nervous though. It's only supported on the ends, there is no support in the center. I'm worried about the tank bowing in the middle and poping seams, or worse.

The tank from the front:

As you can see, the stand supports the end of the tank for a few inches. There is no support on the front or back, the wood there is just the lip which holds the tank in place on the stand.

Here in the middle, the tank hangs freely, with about 3/4" before it hits anything solid.

Are my worries unfounded? Does anyone else have one of these stands? If so, is it built the same as this one?

It's no different than my 75g stand, with the exception of dimensions of course, and it's held together just fine for over 5 years. Remember, the majority of the weight is carried by the four corners of the stand. There's not much support needed in the middle until you get a tank that's over six feet in length. You have nothing to worry about.

I got the same stand on my 75 and was worried about the same thing. it is supported on all the tanks edges evenly though. I know when I bought this tank/stand combo the tank has a better warranty when you use this stand cant remember if it was 5yrs
