These last couple of days have been the most aggravating and dissapointing since I started keeping fish 14 years ago when I was 6. It all started out great, picked up 3 baby Flavicans, acclimated them and went out to take care of some errands. Get home and check out how they are doing, but I can only find 2. I realize the guard on my siphon tube to my wet dry has fallen off and the siphon isnt flowing. Take it apart and there the little guy is dead as a doornail!!!! It gets better, the next day one of my baby peacock bass dies after he was swimming upsidedown and on his side for a day. Then today another one of my baby peacock bass goes missing. I find him dead wedged in a crack in my driftwood. He was lodged in so tightly I had to forcefully yank him out. How this happened I cannot even imagine. To top it off another one of my peacock bass is swimming like the other one did before it died. Total $85 of fish DEAD!!!!!!!

dead. :swear: :angryfire :WTF:  :wall:  :duh:  :OMG: :FIREdevil  :bs:

Sorry for the crying, but I need to vent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that really sucks the biggest lost i've ever had was a 1 and a half year old arowana died because of jumping out my tank it was about 1 foot long

i feel ur pain

Sorry to hear.

The biggest loss ive had was a 8 inch peacock bass.

I think I will take the biggest loss crown here....

I lost one of my Zaire Blue Zapampa Frontosa's colonies F0 2m-5f paid 780.00 plus shipping

My room mate decided to vaccuum the rug in frontof my 120gal and unplugged the filter for the tank for a few minutes :swear: He thought it was for the air stones or something, because it was not on the powerstrip :swear: He forgot to plug it back in....He leaves....I come back from the beach the next day and the horriable smell of dead fish hits me when I wake in the door :WHOA:

I turned pale and turned to my girl and said please leave and go somewhere, antywhere but here..... :swear:  I F'in flipped and check the tank....all where floating or laying on the bottom....it was about 32-34 hrs of none moving water, and it didnt help with him over feeding my fish..... :swear:

Needless to say I no longer have a room mate (:swear: what an ass), and he paid me for what I had loss in fish that day to make it right.....

and what was worst, one of my female was holding a clutch still when I pulled her out.....counted 43 eggs  She held them for @ 2weeks, and even after she croaked....

So, I would gladly take the lost of a 40-100 buck fish any day over a wild colong of breeding Frontosa's

Went and bought a new2 colony from Russ Ustler off Zaireblue.com only to sell later to someone in town to get into rays.....
Ill get another colony....miss them too much! They are the sexiest monsters!

Gman you have my sympathies, sometimes it seems that everthing falls apart at once. It can be pretty heartbreaking, I once lost some breeding angels and african butterflys as well as other fish because some moron used the tank as an ashtray and tossed in his cigarello butt.

 Sorry to hear it can go right for years then bang 1 week of 14 years of doing it right down the pan and it is always on something you love or really wanted next week will be the start of another 14 years of getting it right

What I say its was not my fault and dint do nothing wrong.....So I am doing something right if I can get a few Zaires to breed and hold! But it is always the fish you do love the most that dies on you first....That day was pretty painful....I was not a nice person haha....live, learn, and kill the stupid!

P.S. SMOKERS SUCK! :swear:

i think i should have the crown for the biggest loss two 24inch silver arrows one 24inch pacu one tiger shovel nose one large sevron all in one evening i was gutted it was caused by power loss i know how you all feel

Well you have been doing this for what? 14 years? And this is the worse thing that has happened? Not a bad track record if I say so myself, hang in there...bad things are inevitable in all aspects of life, just be happy there is more good than bad.

Yeah man, keep at it. live and LEARN!
Sorry about the loss.
