I'm considering getting a Freddy cichlid (Parachromis friedrichsthalii) for a 75 gallon tank and I've been thinking about tankmates. Here's what I'm thinking-I'll house it with a frogmouth catfish (Chaca sp.), since it's pretty quiet, inconspicuous, and it doesn't really move. But it's a really neat-looking, predatory catfish that attains a pretty decent adult size-around 8 inches. Also, I'm planning to introduce the catfish first, wait a while, and then introduce the Freddy. That way, it will not have claimed the territory, and it will be much more likely to accept the catfish as a tankmate. So what do you all think? Is it worth a shot?

I don't think you would have a problem with the him and the catfish going in at the same time.
