Hello again guys,

A friend and I have taken a day off from work in a couple weeks to travels in search of awesome fish stores in our area. We leave in Eastern PA, but are willing to travel a couple hours for a great fish place. Can anyone recommend to use some great shops in our area?

we had also tossed around the idea of setting up some kind of live well in the car. Any suggestions?

Thanks Guys. Im pretty pumped to search out some new stores!

shark aquarium in hillside,nj. and as for the live well... u can buy an inverter at walmart made to plug into your cigarette lighter in your car. they cost like $20, with that you can supply heat and air to the live well. walmart also sells battery powered air pumps. i usually use an igloo cooler when transporting fish. size accordingly

Some of it depends on what you are looking for. You probably know about That Fish Place in Lancaster. I don't think they are as good as they used to be. I like to go to my local independent fish store in Orfield, PA, American Aquarium, http://americanaquariumandpetsupply.com/. It's small, but they try to get some things in that the chain stores don't get. I was able to get to the Pet Shanty in NJ once: http://www.petshanty.com/ They had room after room of fish, even some monsters, and stuff I've only seen on Aquabid. I'll be heading back there some day. I've seen advertisements for The Hidden Reef in Levittown, PA. I haven't been there, but definitely want to check it out the next time I have a day off.

Other local fish stores I like is Fins, Feathers, Paws and Claws in Harleysville (but not the new shop in Quakertown) http://finsfeatherspawsclaws.com/
Pets Plus in Quakertown, PA right on 309 http://www.petsplusfacts.com/petsplusQuakertown.htm 25% all fish and corals every Saturday. I've seen some uncommon stuff there, even a large Madagascar Cichlid.

We're going on Friday guys! Anyone else have any good places to get fish? Near PA NJ ect?

Tropiquarium in Ocean, NJ. Pet Shanty in Scotch Plains, NJ. Shark Aquarium in Hillside, NJ. Absolutely Fish in Clifton, NJ. Beital's Aquarium in Pearl River, NY. All are really nice fish places.

If you decide to head South into Maryland.....We have 2 decent stores..

House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie Md
Exotic Aquatics in Parkville Md
