Big Jay Plecostomus MFK Member Jul 3, 2008 412 39 61 Northeast Feb 22, 2011 #6 I try to keep it around 79-80. If I am adding new fish i'll temporarily bump it to 81-82 to avoid any outbreaks of ich. The general rule of thumb is that higher temps lower dissolved oxygen and lower temps raise the risk of ich.
