I am going to be setting up a 240g and was wonderging if I could use a large sump-wet/dri set up. I want as much water capacity as possible. So would it be ok to use a 100-150g for the sump? I also will be setting up for a 200g and 180g and want to use same type of set up, porportional to size. Let me know your thoughts!

the bigger the better!!!

the added water in the sump will give an even more stable water chemistry

and with this..........you can add afew more fish :naughty:

:iagree: i like overkill

Yep, the bigger the sump the more flexible it is, as long as you have the room to house it! You will have plenty of room for pumps, extra filtration devices, add some baffles to section off areas for different medias etc. For one that size you could even have a sectioned off area for housing fish that are being picked on or that need to be seperated for a reason(ie. feeders).

Just some ideas...

;)

For my 240 gal im going to use a 40 gal and my dad said hell by a strong pump for me since my bulk is 2 inches

Thanks for all of the replies...you all seem to think just like I do!

:iagree: As long as you keep up with waste cleaning and water changes!
