I have a 50g and i think that discus a cool. In the 50g there is 2 angel fish, a pictus catfish, a pleco, 2 goldfish, a black skirt tetra, 2 giant danios, and a red-tailed black shark. Would a discus be ok??

Discus are shoaling fish and do best in groups of about 4 - 6. Any less than 4 and the dominant fish will most likely stress the submissive fish to death. Their aggression is best spread out among several individuals. They form a hierarchy. I always raise out groups of six.
Depending on the quality of the discus and the level of care you give them, adults can reach 5 - 7" from nose to base of tail. I usually grow out six in a bare-bottom 55 gallon and then move them to a larger tank once they hit 4 - 5" (sub-adults).
Goldfish are no good when mixed with tropical fish, IMO.
