I currently have a galaxy wood cat (I cant remember the exact species) living in a pvc pipe in my 55 gallon aquarium. It only comes out at night to feed on sinking pellets. It is extremely skiddish, and only comes out after all my barbs and giant danios have gone beddie byes. I think it doesnt like competing with them for food. I also have a 5 galllon aquarium upstairs that is starting too get to small for all the plants in it, and that I want to upgrade to a 10 gallon. It currently houses a pea puffer, a scarlet badis, a couple of cherry shrimp (being moved when the puffer is big enough to hurt them) and a my last guppy (he's a tough old bastard, trust me). My question is, would a five inch catfish who does nothing but hide all day be happier in an ten gallon aquarium where nothing is gonna get in its face? or is it just too small?

I feel I should mention I bought this catfish because it was all alone being terrorized by the gouramis in the tank it was in at the lfs (they didnt have anything for it to hide under, and the gouramis swimming around doing there thing was what whas scaring it, the gouramis didnt seem to know it was there) and i felt bad for it.

never heard of these, kinda neat looking, which LFS did you get it from, Big Al's, Aqua Giant?

Big als. They always have a name tag for them on one of the tanks, but that was the only time I've actually seen one in there

will have to check next time I'm in there. usually I'm glued to the pleco tanks, go in for food come home with another pleco or 2:D
