Would a green terror be good with either...

Have you looked at Pimelodus blochii? They're a little bigger than pictus and are not as territorial as some synodontis get.
Having said that,I think fully grown pictus would be fine.

Some species of synodontis (in my experience) can be very territorial.
They can be with each other especially if you only have 2.A lot of them are better alone or in groups of 3 or more.
I have also known them turn on cichlids if they both decide they want the same hiding places.
They can and do work in cichlid tanks, but there is a chance it may not.Still worth trying if this is the fish you want.
Pimelodus would just be a safer option.
Hoplo catfish would be my first choice. They worked really well with my rivulatus.

I will forsure get a group of 6-8 of whatever I decide to get or can find.

My main concern is I don't want my gt to eat them once he gets big enough to do so. Any chance of that happening?

I will forsure keep the gt well fed.

I don't think you will have any issues if they grow up together and they are proportionately big enough not to be swallowed when introduced.

Alright, thanks for your input. Since he is young he forsure won't be able to eat them as I would probably get 2 inch cats. Maybe a touch smaller.

I am pretty sure they cats will grow quicker than the gt.

I found a local breeder who has a bunch of 1"-1.5" synodontis petricola

I got 10 of them. $6 each. When I got home I realized once in the tank that one of them has his dorsal fin missing.

I doubt it will grow back :( looks fine otherwise.
