I have a 55 gallon tank that currently contains a 3" convict, 4" firemouth, 4" bichir, and a rapheal catfish. I want to add one more fish to this tank and was wondering if a pike would work? I would like one that is as colorful or interesting looking as possible and would like it to get to 8-10". I have never kept pikes before so I am not familiar with there behavior or species that dont get huge. thanks.

try anything saxitilis. such as...
c. sveni
c. frenata
c. lucius
c. saxitilis

behavior...

they dont like anything shaped similar to them. these fish will leave the water and beg for food.

GO OBAMA!!! WOOT, WOOT!

I'll second that.

yea it would work, eventually upgrading or getting rid of the convict

I would try to stay away from species Saxatilis and Sveni, they grow to about 10-12 inches and will out grow a 55. Lucius, Frenatta and other saxatilis type pikes that stay in the 6-8 inch range would be perfect.
