Would adding a school of giant danios reduce gt pair aggro?

Hi everyone,

With the last spawn from my young gt pair they got a bit aggressive with eachother which I would like to avoid in the future if possible.

Would adding a group of dithers help with this? Or is it just something that will happen?

I have read lots of threads where gt pair fight around spawning time. If I have to just keep the male then I will. But would rather keep the pair to grow old together.

Dithers may be ignored, often times another cichlid is what it takes to keep a pair bonded.
I would put another cichlid on another side of a divider.

They are super cheap so you may as well go ahead and try them, if they get eaten expensive feeders

Well I don't have a means of quarantine fish.

So I don't wanna risk making my pair sick if I dont have too or if there is a chance of the minnows not helping

I agree with duanes, a target fish would work much much better for what you want than dithers would.

Pimelodus catfish can work well.They are a real threat to eggs and fry.The rivulatus will soon learn this and they will act as good target fish that are quick enough to avoid harm.
I used to have Pimelodus blochii with mine.
As your tank is a little smaller I would opt for a group of pictus.
