would discus suit me?

hey, i just set up a 110 gallon tank, and currently have a eel tail catfish in there, australian native, i was wondering if a pair of discus would go fine in there, like with the catfish.
i was also planing on getting a pleco of some sort, maybe sailfin, would he be alright with discus?

discus don't do well in just 2. 6-9 is optimal.

A mated pair would do fine. But not just 2 random discus. You would need at least 4. 6 would be preferrable

i never heard of the eel tailed catfish before. Sounds like a dangerous fish with venom in its barbels: http://www.aquariacentral.com/fishinfo/fresh/tandanus.htm

Discus are very slow moving fish, and they could easily contact the catfish if this is true.

Other than that, Discus tend to keep to themselves. And if they show aggression, it's most likely to other discus only.

As for Plecos, they should be fine/
