I just bought a new 120 tank that came with 2 penguin 350 filters. I dont have substrate in the tank yet, but I was thinking "sand" over gravel. I have never had sand before and I was wondering if I should get S or T grade 3M color quartz. I am going to have piranhas in the tank for awhile, then maybe some large cichlids. I was thinking of getting S grade over T grade, but I dont think S grade would be worth replacing my filters. Would S grade be okay and not get sucked into the filters and destroy them? The intakes for the filters are about 10 inches from the bottem of the tank. Thanks guys!
