The guy wants 250 for the tank, im going to try to talk him down to 200. The tank looks alright, and for the size its a good price, I am unsure of missing wood on the stand but it looks ok otherwise. Im going to get more history on it, but it was defiantly used prior. The background is painted black the guy lives like 5 miles from me, should I jump on it? Apparently hes just upgrading, do seals wear out on tanks that easy? Is 200 a good price? I have seen so many people selling 125 gallon tanks for 600 dollars I want to puke lol. Its craigslist, the stuff is used, no one is going to pay retail for secondhand merchandise unless its mint condition.

I'd say no at 250 or 200,maybe at about 150 if it doesnt look scratched up ,the stand is ok ... ...I just looked at it again ...I WOULDNT GO OVER120 EVEN WITH GOOD GLASS ..BUT ITS WORTH WHATEVER YOU THINK IT IS

I live in New York but I spent several years in stl and I'm actually there now and I can tell you the market for used tanks isn't the best compared to other places. For some reason the links aren't working for me but I wouldn't pay more than $1 a gallon for a tank that was used. Secondly, if you have to ask, its not worth it. I've felt ripped off in the past and it is a horrible feeling. I promised to never let that happen again and now I just wait for the spectacular deals. Lastly(and kind of off topic), don't expect anything out of used filters and be prepared to buy a new one. I've never had a good experience with them.

the link isnt working for me either ...I'd second the notion of dont buy used unless you can tell its a good deal right away....of people out there ,I wont call them scammers, think they stuff is worth a LOT more than I THINK IT IS,plus I've been had ,buy A GUY who used the lfs I SHOP AT as a reference and then sold me a tank that didnt hold water .use our warnings as your buyer beware lesson

Ill be sure to keep that in mind, yea I dont trust used filters, you dont know what kind of bacteria or viruses could have been in the previous tank, its just far too contaminated to risk it. And yes, it seems everyone out here in stl thinks that just because they have a used saltwater tank, there going to get 1500 dollars for a 125 gallon tank, sorry but no. You can tell the fish people that are selling tanks and the non fish people, about two or three 0's difference in price. Im going to keep looking, if need be, Ill just set up a Rubbermaid stock tank in my garage and run a canister filter through it. Easy tank. Im just out trying to scour up a sweet buy before I leave for college up in edwardsville next week.

I know the feeling...It seems like St Louis is the polar opposite of say, Socal. I know its not fun but patience is the best procedure at this point, although the deals oddly seem to pop up at the worst times.:(
