I'm starting the cycle on my 120 tonight.

I originally planned for just 2 green terrors and 3-5 yoyo loachs, would I be overstocking it if I added 2-3 firemouths to my list?

It seems like it might be a bit too much but I'd like to add something if people think it would be ok

Hmm... It depends on HOW big the green terrors are... I've never kept one myself.. but i have kept cichild.. lots of it.. with clown loaches..

It depends on the size of the green terror.. if they are 5-6" then ur looking at probably a few more fish.. 4-5 fish tops before the ammonia level kicks up... but if they are all young fish.. a 120 Gallon should be enough...

It all depends on the size of each fish.. if they are jueveile.. they will be ok..... but make sure u have enough filteration..

120, as in 4ftx2ft?

I think as long as you create proper spots for territtories you should be alright. That's a decent footprint, you could do some really neat stuff.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but wont the GT's eat the yo yos? My Jag just ate the two I had as a snack, and she's only about 7-8inches.

I don't think you'd be overstocked if your filtration was good and you kept up on water changes. Then again, overstocked is viewed in different ways, space, water quality etc. What look are you going for?

I'm not sure, I asked in the loach forum a while ago and people seemed to think the yoyos would go fine.

As for look I'm happy to have just 2 GT living with some bottom feeders or even alone, but I wouldn't mind having a couple of other smaller fish to add to it.

well in that case.. if u dont mind the bottom feeders getting killed.. go for it... u should see how the two GT fair in the 120 and add a bit of fish.. u dont have to rush into the fihs right away.. they can be introduced later on..

TT I'm asking to avoid deaths.. And I'm not rushing into the fish, that's why I'm asking while it's cycling. And once that's done I'll add them over a few months I'd just rather do it while they're all small so they're more likely to get along.
