It seems that it will be awhile before my 210 is ready.

I am thinking of setting up my newly made sump,it is half full of NEW bio media now.I could fill the rest of it up with existing media from my 20gal. sump and running the new filter on my small tank till the 210 is ready.

Is this a good idea or should I just wait till the 210 is done, set up the new sump & add the old media at that time?

I though I could do this so that the new filter could get a running start & I would have the time to rebuild my 20 gal. sump.

As you can see my 20 gal. is in need of a rebuilt(it was my first, the materials used & the way it was built didnt hold up to well.

TIA

I'd set the new sump up in replace of your old one until the 210 is ready. That way the sump gets established for you 210 and you'd be ready to put fish in the new tank right away.

IMO..
It's up to you.. if you're adding your old media to your new sump later anyways than you won't have long to wait before it's cycled. So you're almost doing extra work moving everything around now if you switch the new sump for the old one. just my .02 though.. see what others think..

Shouldn't hurt anything then.. your pump flow might be a little much but nothing too bad I wouldn't think although I don't know what size your tank you're running now is..

When I set it up on the 210 it will have 2 quiet one 4000,I plan on just using one of the pumps IF I set it up on my 75gal.
