I have been looking at the Silver Arowana for awhile now, and was wondering, would they work with an ID shark? and do the silvers grow at a fast rate? thanks

ID shark if small enough can be eaten. if it grows fast enough it'll keep up with the silver so it shouldn't be a problem.

Well you need a big tank for both of them.....even tho the arow can reach 4ft...it ism 100% more flexiable than the ID...thus only needing about 30" turning room where has the ID will need a tank width of its body length plus more....they do both grow at a fast rate up to about 16" then slow down a bit....so you would be cool as long as you started the arow out at a little bigger as the IDs are fairly boisturus...hope this helps

interesting, pix of this elusive "ID Shark"?

yeah irridesents, they are pretty innert as far as fish go and anything that can't be eaten or eat it will be kept alive.
as said, they do need room to grow and actually turn pretty sharply,i have two and they always wizz back and forth in the tank. bobbing and weaving around the decor.
i say gor it as long as everything's a good size to not be lunch.

but i hear that they like groups, anybody know if that's true?
