In a LFS, I saw this stock in the one tank:
2 Parrott Fish
8 Banded Leporinus
1 Juvenile Featherfin(Missing half of his whiskers)
3 Juvenile kissing gourami's(small than a dwarf gourami).

Is that a very bad mix? Very dangerous for the fish?

I also saw dwarf gourami's, had to be roughly 3 months old. 1 with no eyes and 1 with 1 eye, looking very frail.

In a display tank, 4 massive clown loaches. Massive for them to me is 15cm+, 2 Black Ghost Knife at minimum 30 CM, 4-6 decent sized synodontis, most likely featherfin too. about 4-8 Severums(green and gold) and a whole heap of assorted Discus! Oh, and some pleco's. But discus! In that tank? Im not always the best on compatibility, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster with all the others in there. One had some sores on his face which was oozing some solid white stuff.

Now a question of growth rate of a clown loach. 3 years to get from 3-5cm to 15cm+ just feeding on beef heart. This sounds wrong to me?

depends
1. how big is the tank
2. what are the water parameters
3. how are the fish with there temperament i have barbs 2 types of rainbows with a angle fish and it is doing great

Yeah. Fish stores don't care what they put together as long as they sell lol.

And clown loaches are super slow growers especially small ones. Thus the reason 6+ inch ones are so expensive.

I understand Clowns are slow growers, but i still thought it would take longer than 3 years to get to about 15cm?

The one with the parrotts, kissing gourami's and banded leporinus, was about a 1 foot cube.

The display with the discus is very big, but from what i understand of Discus, it is not a good idea to put with fish such as ghost knives and catfish and severums. And the discus all looked stressed.

It just made me feel sick seeing them all like that.
