Ok I am writing a paper for school involving why Asain Arowanas should be allowed in Michigan because even if some idiot let one loose they would not be able to survive during Michigan's cold winters and would not be a permanent threat to the ecosystem. Also how making them legal in atleast one place in the us would also help boost their population and possibly help take them off the endangered species list. In my paper I state that the only way to Obtain keep or breed these fish would be if you apply for a special permit/license and continue with placing microchips in the fish. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated! :D

-They are not illegal because they can thrive in certain water ways in the USA. They are already endangered in their native habitat, I doubt it would be any better here.
-By allowing Asian Aros in a certain state does not boost population of Aros. The farms in Asia is where "production" occurs.
-ID Chips are planted in the Asian Aros regardless, not at the sole digression of the individual farms.
-There are already permits/licenses people can file for but is nearly impossible to get approved unless you are a zoo, university, etc.

I don't know it all, but from what I know your original statements seem extremely misinformed. I suggest some more research before you turn in that paper.
