emperor 400 filters from my 125 to put on a 55 be a bad idea. I was running 2 on my 55 and that was 800gph worth of filtration an hour. If I didnt have to spend another $50 on a filter that would be great.

It would work, but the filtration would be just a bit over recommended minimum for each tank. What do you have in the tanks?

in the 125
28 demasoni + 2 fry that I have seen
7 yellow labs
2 synodontis cats
3 angelicus loaches (quickly becoming 1 of my favorite fish species, they are definitly going in the 55)
5 BN plecos

I think you could go with removing one of the filters. It should be fine.

The fish in the 125 are still small and if need be I could always get another emperor down the road.
