Ok i'm wondering would it be safe to use the wet sand from the beach in a aquarium or even ocean water and i also have another ? if i catch a wild star fish can i put it in my tank

We used beach sand and washed it really really well and still ended up with a parasite problem mabeywe didn't wash it well enough I don't know

I have heard of people using beach sand with no problems, but with sterilizing the sand by boiling or baking it before using it in a tank. I only use freshwater, and gravel, so I cannot speak from experience, just from what I have read on here. You will likely find someone who has done this and can answer your question better soon.

Well, I guess the first part is to make sure it is legal to take sand from your local beaches. As dumb as it sounds, I dont think you are supposed to.

But Cookie is right, boil the hell out of it and kill everything. The last thing you want to do is start your tank off with parasites.

Well that's solves it sand is out of the picture what about putting wild starfish in a tank
May not be a good idea, since anything you collect from local beach is cold water species and your tank is tropical environment. It probably will die in your tank

im so dumb lol i totally for got about that well thanks guys that clears it up

Just make sure its not a predatory star.

Legality issues with taking sand are there.

My brother did a 90g tank with sand he took from his local beach though, and it worked out pretty well. Plus he to the little sand fleas in his tank, which the fish loved. :D

Yeah, biggest issue aside from introducing parasites etc... is the legallity of taking sand/animals from the wild. Ususally you need a permit to do either.
