Hey guys
I wanted to add a large school of some fish to my ray tank. I found a good deal for some black neons so I was thinking of adding 12 or 24 of those.
Before I buy them, would they pick at or bite the ray? I dont mind if the ray eats a few every once in a while.
Thanks!

Short answer is no.

They be fine Dan they won't go near the ray if they have any sense ;):D

They wont bother the ray but the ray will learn to eat them... try a bigger one and they may last longer.. like congos or alestes... these 2 also stay closer to the top less chance o being pounced on.

I currently have black skirt tetras in with the rays. There are a bunch of Buenos Aires tetras in qt right now which I will be adding soon. I have also kept blue red-finned tetras as well. With any of them, the not-so-smart ones are eaten within the first couple of days(nights). The tetras soon learn to stay way from the bottom.

My Leo would pop out of the sand in a flurry to get the tetras I had. Then after I took the sand out he just started swimming to the top to get them. I couldn't keep any with mine for more then a month.
