Hello everyone just recently moved and looking to set back up my 90. Wondering if this stock would work.
1. Salvini
2. Cuban
3. Green Texas
4. Bristle pleco
5 Some Dither.

I am going to be running 2 aquaclear 110’s for filter. Thanks

As adults, probably not. Texas and Cuban males get very aggressive and both pretty large, the 90 isn't that much room for them to escape each other. In a 4' tank, I would pick your favorite of the two, and then stock around that. You might be able to pull off some smaller cichlids that won't challenge the big guy for dominance. Like, Texas or Cuban with a group of convicts or sajica. Might work, if the bigger fish doesn't mind sharing. No guarantees though when mixing cichlids.

I was worried about those two in the long run. Could a female sal and Cuban work? I may have to scrap this idea. Trying to figure out a good combo that can go the long haul together.

Pretty good chance that could work, it depends on your Cuban I guess. Might be smart to go with 3 female sal's. If there is only the Cuban and one other fish in there, the sal would get singled out. If there's three, they all get chased a bit, but not fatally.
In a 90 there is not gonna be any guaranteed combo that I can tell you will work, It's more about trial and error and finding a balance. I've never had a CA community work exactly as I plan it to.

Well, according to duanes duanes experience, the 90g is a good footprint for a grow out, but a 6 foot 100g would be the bare minimum for an adult male cuban

Now if you are talking about a possible pairing that could happen from cichlids of the opposite sex, regardless of species, less than a 6 footer could be a disaster. Notice he used very fast tilapines as dithers for his cuban pair.

How aggressive are cubans? Very since they are the only cichlids in their area.

You can keep a make Cuban in a 90, but as GS stated your chances of keeping another cichlid in with him will be iffy. Definitely not a carpintis.

I am going to take out the Cuban, have to go back to rethinking my stocking idea. Maybe a pair of Sals only or if I could ever find them some loisellei. Are there any vieja that can work in a 90?

Pair of sals or loisellei would work. The loisellei are cool fish, the one I kept was pretty mellow.
As far as the vieja, most of them get past 12" and would be a little cramped in a 90. Maybe a female would be okay. Definitely no other cichlid tankmates with an adult
If you want multiple cichlids in the 90, either just a pair, or smaller cichlids would be the way to go. Would be a nice size tank for a group of thoricthys or cryptoheros.

I would personally not keep vieja in a 90 gallon, they simply get too large in both length, and girth.
