Would cichlids like red devil,dovii, oscar, gt, texas cichlid, or jack dempeseys ever cross breed if they were in a tank with there own kind?

I don't think Oscars will cross with anything, but I could be wrong. My JD wanted my female GT but she didn't want any part of him, maybe because he killed the male GT and she was in love. My male texas wanted my female cutteri but she wasn't having it either.
