would this be considered overfeeding?

my jag is about 3 inches, he loves to eat just like all the other fish in the tank which is great, i threw in a piece of krill for my larger j.d and my jag jumped up beat the j.d to the punch and grabbed it, the piece of krill (freezedried) was about half the size of the jag. he ate it slowly but surley he got it down, was that too much for him ? should i stop throwing in pieces that big or no?

I would avoid it. I won't feed very large krill pieces even though as you said they eventually do finish it off. I am too scared that one odd hard piece might be too big/hard to break and will get stuck,
