I was wondering if i would be able to put a few sunfish in my 1000 gallon pond with 9 koi that are larger then eight inchs each....How big do sunfish get, will they be ok in the winter...any info would be great Thanks!
As long as the pond does not freeze over completely many sunfish will be fine including bluegill, the average size for an adult bluegill is around 8-10" but the record is over 16". They are one fish that truly does remain small if over crowded by other bluegill.
otherwise i know someone that tried to kee p blue gills in a tank and they are mean little guys they bulleid his lmb into submission so just becareful that they dont beat your docile koi up
Sunfish and koi!? My god man have you gone mad? It'll never work, it'll be anarchy, dogs and cats living together. You're a lunatic! LOL J/K Sounds alright to me, I've seen it done quite a few times and all was well.
