Would this combo work. Has anyone done it?

Anyone keep pacu with rays? I would think this was not a good combo considering they are really just big fruit eating piranha. A friend is trying to get rid of his and may need a temp home. Any thoughts?

i have wondered that too. In big (public) aquariums it is done frequently. But in a small home tank, may not work.

Its been done, but Pacu's are very messy and big waste producers. Keeping up with water quality and SPACE would be the biggest issues IMO....

Well, it sounds like temporary keeping is not out of the question. Nonetheless, you are all right. Not a fish I would seek out.

honestly, how big is it? if it is a large fish, I would not risk the instant bio-load on my ray tank, not to mention the necessary 4 weeks of quarantine for adding a fish to a "display" tank...
