Hey I am planning to get a mag drive 2400 for my 300 gallon... I am wondering if that is good enough or should I go stronger?

it should be make a spraybar return cuz that's alot of water coming from a single return tube.

I am planning to keep an arowana and some datnoids.

a mag 12 or 18 might be better dats and aros really don't need that much current. I am running mag 7 for the returns for each of my 180g with aros for the last 10 yrs with no probs.

2400/300 = 8 cycles per hour. That is a great choice for aros and dats. Definately split the return, I like keeping a steady flow around the whole tank, no disruptive high flow areas and no dead spots.

Is there a way for me to make it so I can have flow at the dead spot? Because my tank has a side overflow which mean the overflow is only on one side...I do connect a PVC and run it from one side to the other but I am not sure if thats enough because the water is only hitting the top.
