would this stand be stable?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i loosely built a stand for an 85 gal tank along those lines from garf but modified it for extra strength.
it was a bit overkil but worked fine

ya, that will work fine. like said before looks like a garf stand. I know Leroy and his wife, they own garf. Very cool people

yeah that would be ok i had a 75 gal sitting on alot less with no probs
good luck and keep us posted

Would a wooden stand hold a 8/3/2 300g tank , and what wood would be needed?

You want the load to be supported by the verticals, not the screws attatched to the verticals. That isnt true in this stand design, unless im not seeing it correctly in the figure.

i agree that is how my stand is built, it is kinda old and i think it is tounge and grooved, as well as screwed together
