Would this stocking work

2 parrot cichlids (Hoplarchus psittacus)
1 male GT (andinoacara rivulatus)
2 heros rotkiels
2-3other severums (undecided on species)
1 Red pike (Crenicichla lugubris)

and possibly throw in a few loaches or a pleco or two for bottom dwelling.

If this stocking theoretically could work what size tank would be required?

Either way you habe a lot of fish with a lot of potential breeding activity. However these are not the most aggressive fish you could get, so you shouldnt need a completely massive tank...

I would say something that is at least 6 foot long and 2 foot wide. IMO a 180 becuase there is a large mass of fish. 220 would be my choice for all of these larger fish. An 8' tank might be needed so they can escape each other easier.

If the pike you mentioned doesnt get too big i think a 6' would be fine...

The pike is sort of a wild card and surely could be excluded from the stocking. I'm hoping for a 180 gallon or possibly a 265 so I could swap him out for something else. If anyone is keeping parrots and wants to show off I would love to see them. They may be my new favorite cichlid!

True parrots? Or.... anyways, I would say a minimum 220 gallon for that stock list, and that doesn't account for individual temperament.

Also, severums are soft... and a male sralsbergi isn't gonna grow fast, but if he survives... he may become a real pill.

Yes true parrots not hybrid freaks. Also the GT isn't a stalsburgi its a rivulatus he's already over 6" so the slow growth rate is fine.

It's the true parrots you will need to watch if they pair up and breed.I agree they are a beautiful cichlid and would be a nice display on there own when big.I think if you opt for the 265
Your proposed stock should be ok.Jusr keep an eye on the parrots if they form a pair.

I have heard they can be nasty if they pair off. So I would need to be careful there. Interestingly I cannot find much information on these guys and definitely can't find any for sale.
