some containers will bow out thats the only thing i think you would want to watch for other then that id go for it

It's really small. You'd have to get in there every day to clean up the mess. Make it easy on yourself and get one of these:

I've got one that's 4" tall by something like 18" x 16" across. It holds eight gallons and I had no problem raising about fifty betta fry in it. Big Lots and other outlet stores should carry them. Just be careful when you mount your heater so it doesn't touch the sides. Whether or not it can melt the plastic enough to get a leak, the heat will release nasty compounds from the plastic.

EDIT: I do mean just one tray of that unit laying flat on a surface, not the drawer full of water installed in the tower. That probably wouldn't work at all.

I use ones even smaller than that. They key is frequent (4+times a day) water changes. To heat them I float them in the parents tank and that even helps with water changes. All you have to do is scoop water out and put parents water in. Has worked like a charm so far and does not take up any more room than the tank you already have.

I would get something as big as you can, but if the sides start to bow you can just make a frame out of wood. Doesnt have to be pretty or anything, just ask for some scraps from a lumber yard or something.

Also there is a user named Midnight who has alot of cool diy ideas for rubber container tanks, check out his threads if you want some ideas.

what are you breeding?
