I was thinking lastnight, once my juvs grow out about what I want to keep in my 120 for the long haul. Now my 120 is a 4' tank so here is my thoughs:

GT
JD
Texas
Salvini

Chocolate and BP get's moved to the 55G that the Juvs are in now....

Of course I would like to keep the Choc in the 120 but I think aggression would get the best of her or I would be highly overstocked.

Thoughts?

yes that would work fine without the chocolate though, i personally would prefer a 5-6' tank, but being that it's 4x2' it will be fine.

Yeah me too but the only wall in my basement that I could put a tank was only a 4' wall. I had to go with the 4 footer. When we redo our house and convert our garage I have plans of course.

Just monitor those parems and keep up with water changes and you should be alright with that setup provided aggresion does not become an issue.

i think you could add more to that 120 because
salvini:female 4" and male 5"
GT male around 9-10" female around 8"
jd male around 9" and female around 7"
texas around 10" depending on what type?
i would add a female jaguar

Could a Con survive in there?

er wha?...

depending on speices i have seen texas's at 12"
male jd's at 12"
gt's i have seen at 13" but ussally not over 10"ish
i really wouldn't add a female jaguar in there they hit 14"
he's plenty stocked.:)

Your biggest problem is gonna be the salvini, they can be demon fish! LoL! You could get away with a few other fish being in there! But as of right now, thats probably your best bet! Especially since you already have a couple of silver dollars and bala in there! Don't forget that the chocolate gets rather large now! ;)

Agreed they can be a pain but IME if you get these fish at the same time at the same general size, I'm assuming juvies here, they should be good. get a female Salvini as they have better color(see my vid in my sig), but I'd get her a little smaller then the rest. The GT IMO is gona be the slowest grower too so you might wana give him ahead start. think it through and you'll be good

Are you getting adults or juvies?

i said 10" for the texas because that is a average size between species and sex.

show my a 12" male JD against a tape measure- 10" is a good size for them

GT- i agree some can grow 13" but its not common so 10" is an more acuate

personly as peanut power said he could add more fish if there all female he would have more room for other fish.
i still think a female jag would finish the tank but you may want to get rid of the sal,i have two a big male and a tiny female(not a pair females too small) and the male if peacefull but the female causes chaos and shes 1":ROFL:
