I'm thinkin about getting rid of my P's and moving on to other things. They were interesting at first, but I didn't do the research and was new to the aquaria scene  . I've got a 60 gallon, and I'm thinkin about getting 4 clown loaches, a fire eel, and maybe two convicts. I'm swaying away from the convicts, because I know they have a tendency to be agressive... I wasn't sure if they would be overly agressive for the tank size, and what they are in with. If so... does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I could put in the tank? I definitely want the loaches, because they seem like some interesting fish, and the fire eels look pretty cool too.

Thanks for any input

i have 3 parrots cichlids and 3 clown loaches in mine and i just moved my cons into my 115g
they were all ok together, id say no to the fire eall as if it is a standard 60g then it will be too small as they get to 2ft+.

Clown loaches are quite tough they have a flick knife system on the side of the head that keeps them out of trouble I hade a shoal of 5 for ages in a 5ft and they shared that tank over the years with various cichlids and friend of mine has a frontosa in a tank with 4 and they are fine. I will warn you now they are plant destroyers so can be a pain in a planed tank if not well established. Fire eel will be ok just make certain he is relevant to size to your loaches as if he tries to eat one could end in 2x death as a clown loach is hard to swallow.

convicts are not too bad unless you have a pair pick two females for better colours and least aggression. love fire eels thay look great in the right tank. wonder if they are compatible with polypterus?
