My question is, i have an old bar that i would like to put my 75 gallon aquarium on. But the problem is that the tank will over hand the top by a couple inches on both sides. I can take the top off and make a bigger on if necesarry, but i need the input to start with. The picture is not to scale, but is pretty close. Is it ok, if the supports for the tank are not on the frame of the tank, but more in the middle. the top is bigger then the base, but unfortionitly not big enough. This is really confusing on how to right, but hopefully it makes sence to someone. Thank you

If you can build bigger you probably should. A lot of the weight is on the corners. That big a tank as you know weighs a lot. Would probably work but why risk it.

sounds like a disaster waiting to happen
support the whole tank.stand on top of the bar with a few volunteers to make sure it can hold the weight

I would make a new top. Thats a lot of water to have on the floor, not to mention the fish you might lose.

i have only seen plexi tanks over hang like that not sure on glass i would build bigger

you should build it the same size as your tank for better support...

You should DEFIENTLY support the whole tank. It is designed to be supported by the WHOLE bottom, while it may hold up for a while like that, It could and most certainly will end disasterous, espectially with as much weight that you are tallking about (75 gal~ 735lbs at the least)

I would not risk it.

I agree with guppy, I wouldn't do that either. Make the bar bigger.
