hi , im new to this forum and this is my fisrt post , i have recently baught a 5 foot ex-display tank (the ones they house the fish in unitill thyre sold) and for £10 belive it or not. anyway , ive alway wanted a predator type tank , i have had predators befor including a micropeltes however now i have a large tank i would like a community type thing , i wans thinking .. 1 syno , 1 sengal bichir , 1 gibicep and something else , and also im stuck with a clawed frog who is only about 3 inches at the moment but is getting bigger daily , i would appriciate any feedback , good or bad and also anyone elses oppinons on what they think the tank sould house.

cheers in advance ... chris

yeh that would be cool , ornates are rare around these parts though :( its funny because my lfs always seem to get very rare one off's at very cheap prices , for example a red tail cat for £10 and lots of baby channa micropeltes for £1 but nothing i ever want like ornates lol ,,,, any more suggestions ?

How many gallons is your 5ft tank? Whats all the dimensions? Clawed frogs generally don't do well with fish. Also, I think he would struggle swimming to the surface in such a large tank.

tank is 59L 20W and 20T , im kinda stuck with the frog and it seems to do ok in a simlar sized tank i have with commuity fish in , pretty much the reason im anxious to get him out lol i could get him a tank on his own but its elecricity :( any way i like the idea of just 2 oscars but they are notoriously hard to sex and 2 males could become a problem could it not?

ok ive been toyin , what do you think to these combos ?

2 ABF
1 gibbi
1 syno
2 columbian sharks

or ...

2 oscars

or...

2 bichirs
4 silver dollars

or...

1 rope fisj
2 bichirs
1 gibbi

or...lol

2 talking cats
2 bichir
1 rope

????? or any more totaly diffrent ideas ?

Ranchus. Lots and lots of ranchus.

Or, because you want a pred tank, Perhaps a jag would be well suited to you.
