Hi,
I have a silver arowana in my custom 200 gal. with some rays and a few discus. I've had the aro in the tank for about 8 months. I figure it's about 10" long, maybe a bit less.

The petstore I really like got in another gorgeous silver, that one's probably 6"-7".

Would it be at all possible for me to make this new arowana the newest edition to my 200, or would it end badly?

Thanks for your time.

Bump..

I am also considering something similar.. introducing a 10" in a tank with 14" and a couple of 10" FL Gars (and a 7-8" Jag)

Hey Sid,
Could you maybe post a picture of your tank? It sounds really cool!

It's hit and miss with multiple silvers. The only way to find out is to try it, but you must have another tank to move one of the silvers to immediately if things go bad. Are you planning on upgrading to a larger tank? If not it would be best to just stick with one silver, as 200g is too small for a single mature aro let alone two.

I'm actually almost done building a 2000 gallon indoor pond. I don't know what I'm going to put in it, so maybe arowanas. :)

If you have a secure net over it then sure. Otherwise go with koi for a pond (cliche). Koi are just gorgeous when viewed from the top. Arowanas are more for looking at from the side. They're thin and narrow so a top down view wouldn't do them the justice. So unless your pond is elevated so that you can see it at eye level it might not be as enjoyable. Koi are fat all around and their best markings tend to gravitate around the top of their head.

as brian said they are hit or miss...it could be done has has been done many many times...my silver balck combo has been hit and miss...they are fine together then one beats the other one...so i seperate with a divider...then after a week or so when the beaten aro is heald up they some how find their way together and are fine...right now they are fine...i just resently had a group of 5 silvers...they were fine...then i introduced them to the big tank a little to early and after jumpping and pbass eatting...i have one in that tank and no more pbass with 2 others that i will put in when they are proper size as my one silver i got in jan is already 15-16"...my other is rapidly catching it, but still to small...the black is trailing even though it was bigger then my second silver when i got it...

Ok.
The ponds is elevated, and can be viewed from eye level in 3 (large) places
