i have a creak by my house and there are some very nice fish in there such as a couple species of catfish and some species of sunfish and also bluegill, crappie, large and small mouth bass, darters, minnows, and sculpin all juvies would these all be able to go into a tank with one another without a slaughter? and what equipment would i need in the tank? chiller and powerhead? and what would these fish eat? should i get the substrate and decor from the creek?

thank you to all replies

well eventually with that many different species of fish one will probably decide the other one looks tasty and one will probably eat another one, very hard to tell. I wouldnt worry about a chiller at all since it isnt needed, and also being 16, it would be very hard for you to dish out the money for it. personally i wouldnt go with a powerhead, (maybe for oxygen though if you wanted/ surface movement) but the water flow wont be needed at all because you said they are from a creek.
i would just go with two filters since wild fish crap alot. it is difficult to take substrate from anywhere wild because you have to make sure that there isnt any snail's etc, in it, same with plants. but a log or two might look nice.
I have 4 Yellow perch with store bought plants and drift wood.
peice of advice. absolutely boil any store bought drift wood you get because it will leak brown into your water. And make sure any wild plants or logs you take dont have any unwanted snails on them

Do some research about the size of these fish LMB Will need their own tank because they will eat everything, maybe the same for SMB

well i mean they live in the creek why couldn't they live in a tank together i know the minnows and darters will get eaten but that was expected

Piranhas and angelfish live in the same habitat. But no one would think of keeping them together! (at least I hope not). You also neglected to tell us what tank size you have, that will be very important. The bass and carp can be ruled out right away. Just to big for most people to manage. The catfish could also get massive, or stay small, it depends on what you've got.
So, please answer the following questions:
1. Tank size
2. Species of cat available
3. equipment you already have
4. how willing are you to provide live food
5. How much space do you have available

1)it will either be a 75 or 150
2)not sure there are bullhead and channel and flatheads there
3)i have all the filters and everything excet the tank
4)live food will be no problem to get darters and minnows are in abundance and the creek is very close to my house
5)i have alot of room for the tank

I kept numerous native tanks. Substrate you can do what you please, Id say take rocks and wood from the creek, it looks natural, its free, and Ive never had any problems, just clean it off (boil or put in a bucket of water for a while). Now It all depends on the mood of the fish , just as if you bought them at the store, some live happily together forever, others bully anything that comes near them or will chase the others to death. I once had two lmb, with 2 bream, and bullhead and pleco. All living happily together, but recently I had an lmb with a redear that were together for 4 months and then one day the lmb decides to chase him to death for no apparent reason, sad emotionally but they are just free fish from the pond. The biggest concern of keeping lmbs with anything is that they are extraordinary predators and may often eat all the food before bream, crappie, or other less predatory fish have a chance, my lmb will have his mouth full and still go after the minnows that my other fish would go for. Fish such as Lmb and smb do get quite large but the Lmb's ive had normally start at 2 inches and typically are only 6 inches after a year. But they can reach up to 18 inches, Ive seen some youtube videos with some lunkers.
I dont know how you plan on acquiring the fish but I go out at night and wade the shores with a light and net the little guys trying to hide. Also be sure youre within state regulations when catching such fish. Catching fish with rod and reel is sometimes the only legal way but I feel like when keeping them in aquariums if you can use net its safer.

As for food I have a pond with minnows and mollies, but I recently bought massivore pellets that my lmb love, I hear market fish works as well, and I even throw hot dogs in once in a while to fatten them up. For filtration 10x turnover is good. Just be sure to keep up on water changes. Id say keep it simple, two good filters are all you need for filtration, no need for powerheads unless you just want to throw some in for fun.
Any other questions feel free to ask.

i have enough money to get a 75 gallon or a 150 gallon i have the filters and stuff and the fish would be free and are close by i have been going down there to swim and fish since i was little it seems like it has gotten smaller since then but the variety of fish amazes me :D i would just like to have your opinion on what fish would be good to have

Id say try to go with one of each of what you can find, I used to do pairs in case one wouldnt eat so then Id keep the better eater of the two and still be able to have that species. Id say go with 6 fish total, 1 or 2 bottomdwellers (sculpin and cat, or two cats, or 2 sculpins) and 4 other fish, my preference would be 1lmb, 1 smb, 1 crappie, and 1 sunfish. Just feel it out, start with what you can get and maybe exchange them if you find some of the more rare fish ( I know I have a tough time getting crappie, I have only had 1 before).
