So trying to get the max out of my sump would this work... in. The overflow having a pre filter then about two feet of bio balls water then goes to sump full of filter floss runs past a few dozen pothos or lucky bamboo to reduce nitrates b4 going back to main tank

I guess my question is would using bio balls in the overflow wirk while giving extra space for more fikter media?
