been looking over several types of fish for my sisters tank. Here is what I've came up with so far.

Green Terror
Blue Acara
Gold Severum
JD
Firemouth

So basically what i am thinking is two or three of these in her 55G. Of course I know the Arara and GT would not go together(aggression). So would three work or should I get two and add some dithers? I'm think tiger barbs as dithers or silver dollars. Oh yeah probably gonna do one bristlenose or rubberlip pleco.

Feel free so suggest any other options.

get a pair of sev's and some silver dollars IMO. I would buy 5 or 6 and sell the others back to the store after you get a couple that like each other. If you don't want a pair and potential babies, I would go with an acara, severum and Firemouth

Yep, it's for my sis who certainly doesn't want babies to deal with.

Firemouth's with a BLUE dempsey.. Youll get tons of compliments!... screw the GT.. too aggressive..

Yeah, if you get a GT you kiss the others goodbye... after about 6", they truly can be terrors.

I would go for a Green severum, firemouth or two, and a school of serpae tetras

I'm currently keeping JD's and Firemouths together and there's been nothing more than the occasional "high-speed chase". They all have their respective territories, which they all seem to recognize. Once my Blue is through with quarantine, it'll go in there for growout, too.

Personally, I agree with AquataHolic420. A 50 with just a Firemouth and a Blue would look awesome!!!!

You could fit a pair of any of those fish(except the G.T.) in a 55 gal,but another fish you might like to try is a Port Cichlid, they look something like an Acara, but they have longer finnage and i believe they get a little bigger. They are a very nice and less aggressive cichlid.:naughty:
