so i havent seen pics yet (later tonight) but i need a 75 for a growout tank. it doesn't have to be flawless, but people will see it, so i need it to look decent...

anyhow, the description is
"My roommate has a 75 glass that he was using as a frag tank. Its drilled on one of the side panels with a durso standpipe. Trim is dark oak. He said he would do it for $50."

are frag tanks typically scratched up?
i am not 100% what a standpipe is, but will i be able to use it as a normal aquarium like this??

If it holds water I'd buy it. If it looked bad, I wouldn't put it in the living room, but for $50 i'd find somewhere to put it. That's just me.

thats a good price if all you want is a tank to grow out fish, but if it's a display tank, it might not be ideal

whats a frag tank anyways?

?? something to do with saltwater tanks ... they use it for growing pieces of coral / live rock

?? i think ??
i'm not much for saltwater terminology :)

man for $50 ill definately buy it as a grow out.

by growout, i mean it will be used for a year or two ...
i still want it to be decent enough so that i can show it to people and not be embarassed.

anyone have experience on how beat up frag tanks get ?
the standpipe?

standpipe is just the plumbing to drain water to the sump. bottom of tank is drilled, bulkhead with attached pipe is installed, water drains out the vertically standing pipe. hth

It's worth it for a growout tank. I bought a 120 that was a SW tank. I got it home and cleaned it up and the front glass is majorly scratched up, TBH I don't care though cause I turned around and sold the lights for $175 so I got the tank / stand / brand new pump, etc.. for $25.

Does his come with a stand or anything like that? If it were me I'd still pick it up.
