No bad experiences. Just make sure you buy from a reputable source and you will be ok. I will say though that I have always used air cargo (same day) for shipping, never tried the 2 or 3 day option.
Done it a few times now. Have not had any DOAs or sick fish, but then I have also only bought from vendors/sellers that have come recommended via the forums or friends. As for shipping, next day air. As always any fish I get goes into a quarantine tank for 4-6 weeks.
I sell fish online and I have almost no problems. It really depends on the fish and shipping method. Delicate/temperature sensitive fish should at least go over night. (Discus, Arowana,most African cichlids) Don't trust Express mail use Fedex or ship through the airlines. Central American cichlids ship easily. I sell Electric blue jack dempseys they have lasted 5 days and routinely go 4 days without any problems. I ship in flat rate priority mail. Quality sellers will guarantee live arrival.

No bad experiences here either, Just buy from a reputable vendor. Most gurantee live arrival and most are pretty good about making things right if a DOA does occur
