With all the recent issues on Marineland wonderful EXPLOSIVE heaters or leaking voltage heaters, I've somewhat turned me into a skeptics of their products. First of all I have owned a Marineland HOB filter running for well over 10 years and still run like a brand new motor. I also owned several All Glass aquariums with no issue. I have always been a fan of their products and customer support. In the past year I've own two of their product which was nothing but a headache. My friend reported their canister started leaking and was replaced free of a new one by Marineland. Lately, I noticed I'm being shocked whenever I have a small cut on my finger. Would you continue to use your existing Marineland heaters or replace them all with other brands? I think the references below are pretty convincing.

I checked "Absolutely Not" for new products.

I still have 2 old stealth heaters working like a Champ.
Any new products, I would not buy what so ever.

i agree i have an old marineland (not stealth visitherm heater i beleive) that has been running like a champ for nearly 7 years and i only stopped using it becuase i broke down my 29 gallon set up.

i used 2 marineland stealth heaters since day 1 on my 150 and they leaked a mall amount of current into my tank from the very beginning (i never realised it was current cause i could only feel it whne i had a cut or abrasion on my fingers) Finaly one day they nearly cooked my tank (brought the temp up to about 92f good thing i caught them when i did.

i switched to a eheim/ebo jaeger heater and haven't look back

made in germany = QUALITY

i will never buy stealth heater ever again. that thing fooled me twice by its look. im rolling w/ebo heater now, i dont care if doesnt look as good as the stealth heater. as long as it doesnt boil my fish.

never had a problem with my stealths old or new,but to each his own when it comes to brands, i can say which is better if i have never used another brand only heaters i have ever used was marineland and theo hydor never had a problem with either.

I have the old school Marineland Stealth without the lights. There is a writing that state it's "Made in Italy". I would think they make better products coming from Italy.

I had a stealth that ran like a champ too. I decided to throw it away because the tank(40 gallon breeder) it was in is right next to a 75 gallon breeder. I looked at all the hard work that it took to find and collect all of the fish in the 75 and thought DEFINATELY NOT WORTH IT!!

Then think of 115 gallons of water on the floor at any given time if it stopped at the 75. The 75 is next to a 55 which is next a 20 long that sits slightly above and next to my 5 aquatic turtles. So I didn't debate long about the heater. Let's not even talk about the cost of the tanks and I am about to add a 300 gallon tank too.

I really loved that heater and paid $50.00. Doing the math of damages versus $50.00 was very easy!

Imagine if the heater explodes while someone was standing in front of the heater while working on their tank.

I have a marine land canister and a heater and I can't complain and probably will keep supporting them as long as they are good to me. I will keep an eye n it though.
