Ok, say you bought some fish, raised them from youth, but they have grown too big. You can't rehome them, you've tried to find places for them, no one wants to take them. You can't afford to buy a bigger tank, and even though you shouldn't have bought these fish without the proper tank space to keep them in, you did anyways. These fish are wayyy too big for the tank, and theres nothing else you can do for them.

So, what to do with these fish? My roommate says he would eat them. Keep in mind, there is nowhere you could rehome them, absolutely no way. What are your opinions.

This is just hypothetical, just an argument we had after seeing an article on PFK.

When my Pacu started getting to the size that my wife thought it was too big,(HAH! no such thing) I asked her if she would google a recipe for pacu. Her response was that she thought I would never be able to kill(intentionally) and eat a pet. O.K. Maybe not the pacu, but I bet my Albino Channel Cat would taste awesome since it's been hand fed it's whole life.:naughty:

there is a thread on here about a guy eating his red devil (it looked tasty), they are sold as red tilapia in some markets.

I wouldn't do it, but I don't raise fish for this type of thing; plus, it's not very economical. Everyone talks about the "living in their own waste" thing, but if you don't add any chemicals to your tank I don't see how it would be unhealthy.

Be prepared, I think this is a sensitive subject to a lot of people; so expect heated (or no) responses.

It really depends on how attached I was to the fish.

I'd go to walmart and get a 127 gallon 5' round kiddie pool for $10..
