my fresh water barracuda(Ctenolucius hujeta) has either a red growth under his eye or a battle wound. It just appeared he looked perfectly fine last night. I didn't really get a chance to get a good look at it because I didn't notice it untill 10 minutes before I had to be at school. any ideas what it could be & treatment??

Before you do anything get a good look at it. If it is a minor wound don't do anything unless it gets fungus, if it has legs it is an argulus and should be remove with forceps, if it is a growth I don't know what t tell you. hujetas get bruised a lot as they tend to be skittish, floating plants or anchored plants with bouyant leaves can help calm them down.
agree with guppy. Confirm what it is first before doing anything. Dont medicate unless you have to. Sometimes adding salt , keeping the fish isolated a bit is all it takes.
