Hi guys,

My blue damsel had a few altercations with a new coral beauty I added in this week. After 2 days of relentless bullying, it looks like the angel retaliated hard. Now everyone is peaceful again.

I found a wound on the blue damsel yesterday (which a I am assuming is from the angel), and was wondering if someone could help me identify the severity of it. I know Damsels are very hardy, so probably just best to leave it be and let it heal up on its own

Keep the water clean and make sure it doesn’t get infected. I’d have a qt ready to treat with an antibiotic in case it does though.

Beautiful tank!

Everything was OK until the I saw the coral beauty walap him with his gill spine. The damsel backed off and then noticed this from the what I thought was a very small wound. So I think has defiantly it has got infected. Although this morning it does look a little better, not as red.

I have already tried to catch him with no success. I honestly don't think I will be able too. I have alot of caves and crevices for them to dart into. And I can't really remove the rocks/clams/oysters either as some of the clams have attached to each other, and the base of the rocks are buried in a deep sand bed that is between 10 - 12cm deep. So I don't really want to disturb anything either as that could cause me even bigger problems.

I think the only thing I can do is literally watch, hope for the best and if the fish gets weak and easy to catch, then try again.

I am hoping that it isn't too bad, and his immune system can fight it off

Sorry about the fish, but at least the problem was taken care of.
