Hey guys,

My jack dempseys laid eggs and during their "love dance" she got his right eye pretty good. Its just a little cloudy and hes still eating and being protective of the tank when i did a small water change. I did a 15% water change to just make sure the water is clean and his eye doesnt get infected.

She seems to not want him too close to the eggs. hes been hiding behind the pot and theyve been quarling through the hole haha the eggs appear to be fertalized,only a few white, buut im just wondering if i should put my divider in to seperate them? I just dont want her to eat the eggs or him to get worse.
Oh and the eggs were laid around 5pm on sat

I'd put in a divider, or take the male out. Leave the female with the eggs.

Update most of the eggs are white today, she didnt let him fertalize. Owell shes probably still scared, ive only had them for 2 weeks. Hopefully next time she will let him

She always beats him up like that lol. I had the cloudy eye thing happen to me too, just seperate them for a day or two in the divider and they will be back to normal. Do a water change and add some salt to heal his eye.
