Same thing with mine..I got a quarter size red eared slider and it'sbeen about a year and he is huge now....hand size.

Thanks everyone... yes they are paints... and don't let anyone fool you that turtles are slow in anyway... you would not believe the motion of their legs swimming like crazy when they see me.. they make so much noise and splash... they are awesome.. great babies...glad i have them..
