I got my cichla about a week and a half ago and two have already grown so much. I've got some picture of them just after feeding and was wondering if I am feeding to much at once. They get this fat 3 times a day too...

three heavy feedings a day might be a little excessive unless you are really looking for them to grow fast. I would say two lighter feedings might be better, just my $.02

ya know most fish turn 50% of what they eat into foood ecspecially baby fish.

I'd just stick with one or two feedings a day.

Yeah be really careful feeding that much...excessive feeding leads to excessive waste. You could get a big nitrate spike suddenly and poof, all dead. I had this happen to me recently, and I lost 3 really nice ocels. Now im doing 2 light feedings a day, and making sure to skim off any uneaten food asap. I feed them just enough to make their bellies just start to fill out.

Yeh i stick to a 2 lighter feeds a day regime aswell, ive witnessed impressive growth with this technique..

3 heavy feedings like that isnt healthy. when your cichla get older, if they make it because over feeding causes some problems, they are going to have the body shapes of pancakes. i hope you like round ;) remember water quality is important and over induced feeling causes illness.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, don't wanna end up with more oscars.....

feeding alot is not the key to growing them fast...the key is WATER CHANGES!!!!
